The 1968 Coral Vincent Bell Sitar Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar, crafted by Danelectro in Neptune, NJ, is a true gem from the mind of East Coast session guitarist Vinnie Bell. Blending the distinctive buzzing, twangy sound of a sitar with the smooth playability of an electric guitar, the Coral Sitar features Bell's revolutionary "Sitarmatic" bridge. Along with its six standard strings, it also boasts sympathetic drone strings designed to create unique sound effects, all powered by three versatile pickups with individual tone and volume controls. Its eye-catching "Bombay Red" crackle lacquer finish and unconventional body shape make it a real head-turner. Produced for a short time, the Coral Electric Sitar quickly became an indispensable tool for session musicians in the late '60s, leaving its mark on a wide range of iconic recordings. Though it has inspired numerous reissues, the original still stands as the definitive offbeat classic. Comes with OHC
