A late-19th century parlour in the style of one of the era's celebrated designers, William B. Tilton. His patented developments on the guitar involved a wooden bar that ran down the inside of the guitar, intended to take stress away from the top, and a metal disc suspended and visible in the soundhole. It's hard to say if these were genuine improvements to the existing design, but regardless, this example has a very interesting, resonator-like tone, and a rare, unique look. This back of this example was reglued in the CVG repair shop and it has a replaced tailpiece.
