From Mike Bell:

"The Grand Ole Walt is my largest model that I like to call a Gibson SJ200 / J45 hybrid – designed for a fantastic stage presence and a huge punch.

When I created this guitar I wanted something loud that says “look at me”. But I didn’t want the bass to overpower the beautiful tone that this model produces, so I designed the bracing specifically to accommodate this and bring balance to the sound.

Because of the sheer size of this beast I have added a beautifully crafted and comfortable arm bevel.

If you like your guitar to have a bit more volume and presence without compromising clarity and tone then this is the guitar for you. Whether you play with a light touch or love a good strum, this will definitely bring out the cowboy in you!

The Grand Ole Walt pictured has a New Zealand taraire top, Malaysian blackwood fingerboard and a Macassar ebony bridge with custom-made fossilized woolly mammoth tusk bridge pins, tusq saddle, buffalo horn nut and a beautiful aged mahogany neck from an old fireplace mantle found here in New Zealand.

The gorgeous black walnut back and sides set were grown here in New Zealand, and matched with an NZ heart rimu binding and arm bevel, and solid NZ heart Rimu headstock with Ivoroid Waverly tuning machines and inlayed woolly mammoth tusk.

All complimented with a stunning NZ paua purfling on the sides, top, back and down the fingerboard."
