Though he'll build a flattop or mandolin from time to time, it's the archtop that stole Steve Andersen's heart. The Washington-based luthier spent time working with the Franklin Guitar Company (you can see a Franklin flattop or two in our showroom) before parting ways to set up shop in Seattle, where his repair business allowed him to study archtops from the greats, like D'Angelico and D'Aquisto. Steve says of his oval hole archtop:

"This guitar is an archtop with a warmer sound than the traditional archtop. The oval soundhole gives the guitar more sustain than the f-hole top. It has the projection and power of a good archtop, with the harmonic complexity and sustain more common to the flattop. This makes the guitar very versatile whether played with a flatpick or fingertips, fast or slow, loud or soft. The overall design of the instrument is intended to make the guitar as lightweight and resonant as possible."

This 2008 model sports a wide 1-13/16" nut width to further accommodate players who prefer to fingerpick. Overall condition is excellent, and includes its original hard case.

*When using Affirm, we charge an additional 3.5% fee on the total at checkout. The majority of our instruments are consignment, where CVG keeps a small percentage of each sale. To be able to cover the additional costs required to offer financing, we have to include a higher fee to the customer. The 3.5% fee will be included in and spread across your Affirm payments.
