Introduced at the close of the 1960s, the Ampeg Dan Armstrong Lucite quickly became one of the most distinctive designs of its era, with a clear Plexiglas body and interchangeable pickup system. This 1970 example has seen thoughtful maintenance, including nut slots filled and shimmed, a truss rod nut replacement, and careful fret work for improved playability. The maple neck is a nice substantial size and is topped with a solid Rosewood board. With its striking transparent body and solid construction, it stands as an iconic piece of Ampeg’s short but influential venture into guitar making.
Includes vintage hard shell case.
