This British classic resounds from the greatest era in rock history - the late 1960's. In Marshall terms this was the "plexi" era, referring to the plexiglass front & back panels, that later turned to metal in the 70's. The JMP circuit design is elegant and simple, with a slightly more aggressive "lead" sound than the JTM45 amp that preceded it. This amp comes to us in collector grade condition, with nothing being disturbed on the inside other than the disabling of the bright cap, which is very common, due to their inherent brightness. It shows signs of wear and prolonged storage, but still looks great overally, with no significant blemishes to speak of.
It should be noted that while the circuit is stock, the amp could benefit from some 100k mile servicing - in the form of new filter caps, along with adding 1k screen grid resistors on the power tubes. Should a buyer choose to keep it in original form, or update it for gigging use, we will leave to them. It should also be pointed out the absence of the JMP logo on this small box head, as this was a US-specific build, with wired 3-prong cable, and a polarity switch in place of where you'd normally find the JMP!
