When the Gibson Hummingbird was introduced in 1960, it was the second most expensive acoustic model that the brand offered. The more expensive a guitar was, usually the more intricate the design elements. The Hummingbird, had lacquer floral/ humming birds motif painted onto the pickguard. This was also the first square shouldered design that Gibson offered that could cover similar ground to the Martin offering. This particular example is in wonderful condition with only a replacement Tusq saddle and replacement bridge pins. To keep it in playable condition, it had its bridge lifted and reglued, as well as a reglue of a couple braced internally. It is to note that the frets have some divotting and the action is comfortable (6/64 Bass & 5/64 Treble), but would need a neck reset for any lower. The sound is iconically Tom Petty, and it's aesthetically a show stopper.
Comes with gig bag.
