The Esquire is a well known close cousin to the Telecaster. The single bridge pickup offers a slightly differing sound from a Telecaster because of the missing neck pickup (there is less magnetism to for the strings to transverse over to get to the bridge). The Custom Esquire was a fancier offering with a double bound body. That being said, the body was routed for Stratocaster pickup that is no longer present; it luckily did not happen with the original guard (which is installed). Some point before 1980, the body was stripped of its original finish and given a black one, that had ample time to be played and worn down. The neck is only a previous refret away from being untouched. The brass saddles, jack/plate, and pickguard screws are replacements. It's a lightweight (6.8lbs), mean looking, well playing, Custom Esquire with excellent sound.
Comes with a modern blue tweed hardshell case.
