While some luthier builds come from design concepts completely unique to its maker, ones like this strike a nice balance between modern craftsmanship and time-tested structure. This 2011 Carter-Maschal was built by Ben Maschal (of Pre-War Guitars) in 2011 at Mandolin Central in NC from specs pulled off of Vince Gill's 1937 Martin 000-28. With the measurements transferred, the result is a slim thickness top with scalloped bracing that provides the perfect balance of response/boom. This guitar has had a minor crack repair to the lower back, but it is structurally solid and ready to live a long life like its 1937 Martin muse.
Comes with hardshell case.
