Some amps get loaded up with switches, selectors, and knobs that claim to have maximum versatility. Unfortunately, the result ends up being an amp with only 1 or 2 configurations that really put a flattering tone on display. This is certainly not the case with the Dirty Sink 6VEL from 3rd power - this thing covers more ground than we've ever seen, with a Marshall style amp. Within the various switches and knob settings lies legitimate vintage style sounds, covering everything from the JTM45, JMP Plexi, all the way to JCM800 with the "+" gain setting engaged. The warmth and harmonic depth within the various preamp bias settings is unmatched against anything competing within the Marshall clone realm, or even with general "swiss army knife" amps. Coming from a vintage shop that's used to hearing the real thing, this small, practical 35w head is very, very impressive.
