This D-40 from Santa Cruz is a unique pairing of Spruce and Maple we don't often see in dreadnoughts. The guitar has a tonal representation somewhere between Mahogany and Rosewood. Very direct and clear notes shrouded in more lush overtones when strumming. This instrument shows little signs of wear in its life over the last 24 years. It plays wonderfully and offers an ear to the intentional fingerpicker. A beautiful dreadnought from the folks with Richard Hoover in California. Brilliant Figured Spruce, Flamed maple back and sides and a mahogany neck.
