Morgan Guitars is luthier David Iannone, who hand builds only about 50 guitars each year in his Vancouver workshop. The last apprentice of Jean Larrivée, David has been building since 1985, and carefully selects his seasoned tonewoods from all over the world, including locally sourced Sitka from nearby in British Columbia. David's builds are centered around traditional designs like the dreadnought, 00, OM, and of course, the versatile Concert model, available in both 6- and 12-strings. With a wide but not overly deep body that maximizes volume while maintaining balance, this 12-string has presence in a comfortable package. Quilted African sapele is used in place of mahogany, offering a similarly warm, focused tone with major visual pop. The bearclaw figuring on top is beautiful, too, accented by a simple abalone rosette.
The seller has a hand-signed letter from David Iannone verifying authenticity. Condition wise, there are a few small indentations on the top that can be seen in the right light. This guitar is currently located with the owner in the US.
