Fender Telecaster 1968 Telecaster with Original Hard Shell Case. This guitar was originally a factory blonde finish that was professionally converted into the very iconic “pink paisley” wall paper finish on a solid alder body with a one-piece maple neck with rare maple cap fingerboard. All original electronics include Fender Telecaster single coil staggered pole-piece pickups in the neck and bridge position along with original pots that date to 1966, controlled by 1-volume, 1-tone knobs with original 3-way blade switch. The 25.5″ scale length neck has a heel date of July 3rd 1968, and features black dot inlays, a chunky “C” shaped neck profile, and was re-fretted with 21 narrow tall frets. On the headstock, the original Fender “F” chrome tuning machines are intact, and while another tuner set was at one time installed, the F tuners cover any extra mounting holes. The original “Fender Telecaster” logo is clean and intact as well. The neck pocket has a blonde paint stick which indicates the original blonde finish underneath the pink paisley finish. The body routes are original and unmodified, and all of the original hardware is intact including the patent number Fender ashtray bridge base with 3-saddle bridge, knurled chrome flat-top knobs, and 4-bolt F-Stamped neck plate with serial number dating to 1968. Plastics include original switch tip, and a replacement pick-guard as well as a replaced bone nut.
This vintage guitar is in overall very good condition for it’s age, the re-finish has a nice patina to it that matches the age of the original hardware and neck. It has been re-fretted and the nut has been replaced which makes this guitar very playable with fantastic action. There is some finish wear on the fretboard and edges of body as well as finish checking across the headstock and body you can faintly see without direct light along with some various light dings, light scuffs and scratches. Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings and includes original Fender hard shell case with orange interior.
