This turn of the century parlor style guitar has no label or brand stamp, but is nonetheless a very cool vintage piece. Over the course of its 100+ year life, the guitar has undergone several surgeries to restore its structure and playability. Around 2001, John Allison of Collings Guitars retopped this beauty with Adirondack spruce, featuring forward-shifted X bracing, a faux tortoise pickguard, and intricate herringbone top purfling. At the same time, it also received a new bone nut and saddle and ebony bridge and fretboard, which was planed and refretted to a 12" radius. There is minor finish wear and checking on the back and neck, but this instrument has remained in incredible shape for its age.
