This beautifully creamed out '64 SG Custom has vibe and mojo for days. It's certainly not mint condition (see the detailed notes below) but it's an incredible SG through and through regardless. Main changes of note are the pickups and electronics. The bridge and middle are mid-70s patent# pickups, while the neck is a '90s Gibson USA stamped. It's been rewired to with a master tone and separate volume for the middle pickup, which lets you get any combination of the three. The refret was done with era-correct frets and the guitar plays great. It ships in its original hardshell case.

  • Finish: Decent condition for its age. Usual dings/dents and wear throughout. Overspray/touchup where neck meets body. Probably due to usual cracks that happen from impact/string tension over many years. Slightly lighter color than the rest of the finish rectangle at the start of the headstock. Most likely due to a sticker that was there for a long time. No indication of a headstock repair. Some chip-out around the edges of the nut from removing the orig and having a new nut made.
  • Body Material: Mahogany
  • Neck/Fingerboard: Mahogany w/ebony board
  • Radius: 12"
  • Weight: 7.0 lbs
  • Scale length: 24 3/4"

  • Electronics: Rewired in, we assume, 1984. 2 pots date to 1981 and another to 1984. Then one must have been replaced in 2004. Neck pickup is a 90's Gibson USA stamped. Middle and Bridge are mid 70's Pat number embossed into back of the pickups.
  • Serial number: 273689
  • Case: OHC old Gibson hardshell.
  • Modifications/Repairs: Refer to finish section for the finish touchup and Electronics section for the pickups/pots info.. Pickup routes have been messed with/poorly routed out even past the original factory routes. Refretted with era correct fret size.
  • Playability Notes: Plays great. Frets are in great shape for its age, doesn't fret out.
