Talk about mojo! This guitar has seen its fair share of wear and tear, but is in great shape for a 50+ year old guitar, and has plenty of life left in it. It is widely agreed that ’64 is the year the SG came into its own, dropping the Les Paul moniker in ’63 while increasing the thickness of the neck profile and replacing the side pull vibrato with the more reliable Maestro Vibrola in ’64. This Gibson SG boasts all original Patent Number humbuckers and the original bridge and Maestro Vibrola, however it does have non-original electronics and tuners. At some point this rock machine suffered a heel crack but was professionally repaired and has no playability or stability issue at all. Embraced by legends such as Eric Clapton and George Harrison, the ’65 Gibson SG has carved its place in Rock ’n Roll history and this example is filled with the spirit of that era.
