Product Code: GF5091
In the early 1940's, during World War II, Gibson introduced the LGs, a series of student model guitars. This particular model, the LG-1, was then offered as a less-expensive option of the three, featuring ladder-style bracing, compared to its x-braced counterparts, the LG-2 and LG-3. This particular model, however, sounds more like an LG-2, as its original bracing has been replaced with the X configuration, now the standard bracing pattern for flattops. This was done to achieve a stronger, more prominent resonance and open the guitar up to a wider range of overtones. Other than the altered bracing and the replaced tuner buttons, this guitar is in mostly original condition. It does have a couple repaired (cleated) back cracks, a repaired "crunch" in the treble side side top, and it has been oversprayed.
