Gibson Les Paul Custom 1956

Gibson Les Paul Custom 1956

Product Code:

$ 25,000.00

 First unveiled at the July NAMM show in 1954, the Les Paul Custom was Gibsons attempt to add a fancier solid body electric to the line. Borrowing from the high-end archtops, the Les Paul Custom featured a split-diamond pearl headstock and an alnico 5 pickup in the neck. The alnico 5 was the pickup Seth Lover designed before the humbucker and was the first pickup to have adjustable pole pieces. The Custom was also the first with a tune-o-matic bridge. This original '56 is a beautiful example of an early Custom. With only minor finish checking, the guitar is in excellent condition and plays great. Comes with the original case.
