Gibson Les Paul Custom 1955

Gibson Les Paul Custom 1955

Product Code:

$ 27,500.00

 First unveiled at the July NAMM show in 1954, the Les Paul Custom was Gibsons attempt to add a fancier solid body electric to the line. Borrowing from the high-end archtops, the Les Paul Custom featured a split-diamond pearl headstock and an alnico 5 pickup in the neck. The alnico 5 was the pickup Seth Lover designed before the humbucker and was the first pickup to have adjustable pole pieces. The Custom was also the first with a tune-o-matic bridge. This is a wonderful example of an early Custom. This '55 is in excellent condition however the frets are very low. The guitar comes with the original hard shell case.
