Gibson F-5 fingerboard
In the 1970s, Bill Monroe took his famous July 9, 1923 F-5 to Randy Wood, then located in Nashville, for some repair work that included a new fingerboard. When the work was done, Danny Ferrington, who was working as a repairman in Randy's shop, saw the fingerboard "scattered among junk" on Randy's bench and asked if he could have it. Wood said sure. This shard of bluegrass history comes in a custom-fitted box made by Ferrington.
