With a great feel, sound, and look this modded '56 is as good as it gets!  The neck is sizable with a V-profile that fits comfortably in the hand. This particular guitar was used by Marshall Chapman, a prominent songwriter and figure in the Outlaw Country movement. It's documented by numerous photographs of chapman playing it and was on display for a time at the country music hall of fame. Marshall Chapman was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States. She was the daughter of a cotton mill owner and after she attended a concert by Elvis Presley in 1956, she became interested in rock and roll. She embarked upon a music career in the 1970s, Her songs having been recorded by such diverse artists as Conway Twitty, Joe Cocker, Jimmy Buffett, and more.  The guitar has been heavily played and shows its age, all adding to the mojo. It has been modified with an Alembic blaster boost switch, a 5 way switch with replaced switch tip, shielded pickup covers, the neck cover not being original, shielding foil added to the cavity, non-original volume knob, '78 volume pot, replaced tuners, added string tree, and a hole from a previous string tree. This guitar plays great and sounds incredible. Includes a 90's Fender case, appraisal from Walter Carter, and photos.
