To celebrate their 100th anniversary, Gibson re-issued 12 special guitars in 1994, with each model hand-crafted in a limited run of only 100 instruments. This "1951" J-185 is #25 of the 100 built to the specifications of the run in the first year of production. Just slightly smaller than, and very similar to, Gibson's J-200, this model features a 5 1/4" deep body, Sitka spruce top, figured maple back and sides, and Maltese cross inlays in the bridge. On this particular example there are very minor pick scrapes on the bass side of the sound hole that are only noticeable in certain lighting.

This guitar was formerly owned by Hank DeVito, renowned steel guitarist and songwriter.
